Bury the Alleluias
The season of Lent is coming up! It is a solemn season of the church, a time of serious reflection, turning from our sins, and seeking the Lord. Because of the solemn nature of Lent, we do not say "Alleluia," since it's a word of celebration. Immediately following the Pancake Supper at approximately 7:00 p.m. Ashes are produced by burning the palms that were blessed in previous years on Palm Sunday. The ashes produced are then prepared for use the following day on Ash Wednesday at all services. Please bring any palms you have from previous years to be thrown into the fire. A basket has been placed in the narthex of the church to collect palms for this event.

Annual Easter Eggstravaganza–Egg Hunt!
St Matthews' Annual Easter Eggstravaganza Saturday March 26th 10 am to noon The eggcitement will include the Easter Bunny, Balloon Clown, games, crafts, face painting and egg coloring. Blessing of the Animals
The feast of St. Francis occurs on October 4. The feast commemorates the life of Saint Francis, who lived in the 12th century and is the Catholic Church's patron saint of animals and the environment.
