Mother Debbie’s Last Sunday With Us

Mother Debbie has been with St. Matthew’s for the past 16 months as our Rector in the Interim. She’s held our hand in tough situations, performed difficult funerals, baptized our children and officiated a wedding. The flower guild is off to a great start, a newcomers task force is working on new ways to welcome visitors, and in so many ways she’s showed us it’s okay to mix things up; that we can indeed deal with change. For instance, this year we tried a new format for the Annual Meeting, celebrated Pentecost with some new and vibrant changes, and we instituted a single service for summer worship. In so many ways she opened our minds and our hearts in preparing the way for our new rector.
Now it’s time for us to honor her time with us and wish her well as we say goodbye.
We will hold only one service at 9:30 a.m., with a light breakfast served before the service and a covered dish lunch served immediately after. Come join us to honor her time with us and wish her well!
Meat, drinks and cake will be provided for the lunch. A sign up sheet for side dishes / attendance is located on the bulletin board in the main hall opposite the church office, or contact the parish administrator.
