Episcopal Church in Snellville, GA
Everyone from beginners to experienced needlers are welcome at any time. The group meets the first and third Thursdays of every month from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This group knits and crochets prayer shawls, prayer caps and other items for individuals in hospitals, nursing homes, or for those in need in other circumstances. The caps are given to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Don’t have yarn? No problem–there’s always plenty available to get started. The items are soaked in prayer as they are created, then placed on the altar to be blessed at Eucharist. They carry these prayers and blessings to the person to whom they are given. This ministry has sent many hundreds of items out into the community over the years.
For more information, speak to Nancy Piechowiak, or come to any meeting. Willing hands are always welcome!
